THE PUSSYCAT DOLLS' NICOLE SCHERZINGER To Guest On SLASH's New Solo Album

Nicole Scherzinger, the lead singer of R&B girl group THE PUSSYCAT DOLLS, has told Ace Showbiz that she has recorded a guest appearance on VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash's upcoming solo album. "I just did a song with Slash for his album, and I just did a duet with Alice Cooper," she said.

Nicole performed with Slash in Las Vegas on Friday, October 2 at a special concert, billed "Slash & Friends", which celebrated the 20th anniversary of Las Vegas hotel, casino and white tiger playground the Mirage. At the gig, they delivered one of the DOLLS' hit singles, "When I Grow Up" (see video below).

Slash's new solo studio album is called "Slash & Friends" and is slated for release next year. The guitarist has recorded around 20 songs for the effort, most of which was tracked with former NINE INCH NAILS drummer Josh Freese and ex-JANE'S ADDICTION bassist Chris Chaney. Other confirmed guest singers so far include Ozzy Osbourne, AVENGED SEVENFOLD's M. Shadows and Chris Cornell (SOUNDGARDEN, AUDIOSLAVE). The CD was produced by Eric Valentine (GOOD CHARLOTTE, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE) and features additional appearances by ex-GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS bassist Flea and former NIRVANA drummer and current FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl.

Slash left GUNS N' ROSES in the mid-'90s, forming SLASH'S SNAKEPIT before later assembling VELVET REVOLVER with several other ex-members of GUNS N' ROSES and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland (who was dismissed in April 2008).

Exclusive: Beyonce And Lady Gaga's 'Video Phone' Clip Confirmed!

All week, gossip sites have been abuzz with rumors that two of the fiercest divas in the game — Beyoncé and Lady Gaga — had joined forces on a super-secret video for B's "Video Phone." It was a fairly big deal, and accordingly there's been much quoting of "insider" sources and "my boy [who] worked as a stylist for [Gaga's] dancers," but no confirmation from any major contributor to the project — until now. On Thursday (October 15), a spokesperson for director Hype Williams confirmed to MTV News that that both Beyoncé and Gaga appear in the "Video Phone" clip, which Williams shot last weekend in Brooklyn's Greenpoint neighborhood. Williams' spokesperson would not confirm any additional information about the "Video Phone" shoot, but, according to Life and Style magazine, security on set was extremely tight, and the video is shaping up to be a fashion bonanza, with Beyoncé wearing "a feathered dress" and Gaga sporting "something wild ... the fashion is sick and insane." Mirroring the Life and Style report, another source posted on Pulse Music Board that the "Video Phone" clip was shot on a "closed set [with] no cameras or video phones" allowed. Apparently, the video version of the song — which is from Beyoncé's 2008 I Am ... Sasha Fierce album — features B and Gaga trading up-tempo verses, and sees Gaga adding an extra verse to the tune. The clip also features "lots of choreography" and "more dancers than the two girls [Beyoncé is] always with." At press time, spokespeople for Beyoncé and Lady Gaga could not be reached or would not comment on the video.

Piano Lesson - Learn to Play Piano by Using Goals

Piano Lesson - Learn to Play Piano by Using Goals
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Peter_Edvinsson]Peter Edvinsson

To learn to play piano is similar to many other human activities. There are principles involved that will help you feel confident and also make you feel happy as you travel the road to become the pianist you want to become! How can you learn to play piano by observing the activities in your daily life! Here are a few tips!

Where are you going?

Usually when we are out walking we have a goal with our activity. Even if it is not written down or even conscious we have somehow decided that this is what we want to do for some reason. Depending on what we do we can be certain that we will reap results of what we are doing. If we have the goal to relax and enjoy the environments we will walk in another way than if we want to develop our cardiovascular system.

This principle can be applied on piano playing as well. The reason for playing will affect the accomplished results. You will not learn to play piano well if you do not have this wish and goal in your mind. Let us take an example from your piano sheet music endeavors. If you only want to play for fun you will probably not become a professional piano performer but you will most likely succeed in accomplishing the goal to have fun with the piano.

The art of taking the right bus

If you are waiting for a bus you have probably already decided where to go. This will help you to buy the right ticket and also to know when you have arrived at your destination.

Waiting and taking a bus can symbolise the actual work of practicing piano playing. The wish to go somewhere with a bus is your actual desire to learn something on the piano. The wish to take a bus to a place is founded in a belief that this place has something for you. By knowing what you want with your piano playing you will get the power or motivation to do something about it.

Finding the right bus starts with knowing where you are going. When you have decided what type of pianist you want to become it will be much easier to set goals and to choose the right type of exercises.

The time of arrival

Before you can definitely decide which bus to take you will have to figure out when you want to arrive at you destination. In piano playing this means that your goals will be much more effective if you set a deadline when you goal is to be accomplished. The goal will be much more meaningful and exciting if you have set a reasonable deadline. It would be a nightmare to travel on a bus without knowing if the ride will take three hours or three days or a week! I would not think that you would ever consider taking such a bus!

The art of buying a ticket

When you know where you are and want to go and the date of arrival you can dare to buy a ticket. In piano playing this means the time when your wish goes from a decision to a commitment. You gain momentum when you dare to make this commitment to yourself and maybe other people. The most important investment in becoming a good pianist is your motivation.

Relax and go to work

When you have decided where you want to go, when you want to arrive, have chosen the right bus and actually have found your seat you can relax and just enjoy your ride and wait. When you learn to play piano you will experience that it is much easier to progress when you have decided what you really want to do. This means that you know where you are now, where to start your progress as a pianist and you do not need to waste energy on wondering what to do!

Hip Hop Old School Legends

Hip Hop Old School Legends
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Andrew_Tucker]Andrew Tucker

Hip hop old school artists are among the greatest of all time and have influenced the music, lyrics and dancing of today's hottest rappers. Songs like Grandmaster Flash's "The Message" remains as important now as it did decades ago. In respect to the rap classics, here's my list of the hip hop old school greats...

Rakim. In terms of lyrics, few can come even close to the R. His use of double and even triple entendres surpassed every lyricist at the time, and just about everyone since. In addition to his amazing lyrical prowess, Rakim had perhaps the greatest vocal persona. His voice seemed to be inside the music, a fact he asserts for himself, saying "When I'm writing I'm trapped in between the lines, I escape, when I finish the line..." Also recorded on the top ten albums of all time with Eric B: Paid in Full.

Big Daddy Kane. One of the deadliest battle MCs, period. Kane could spit lyrics that would rip the paint off your porch. He also took a different persona from other rappers in his day- instead of a street prophet or poet, Kane was known as a player, a true ladies man. This persona would influence future rap greats such as Notorious B.I.G. and Jay-Z.

KRS-One. The brain of hip and self appointed teacher, this lyrical wizard combined brains in his words with the brawn of his voice; when you hear KRS on a track, he steals the show, every time. On his legendary album debut Crimal Minded, KRS ushers in a new style of hip hop.

Kool G Rap. A true hip hop old school legend, this MC is the beginning of hard core hip hop at its finest. Without him, there would be no Scarface or DMX. If you haven't listened to him, you'd be amazed at how many precedents he set...

LL Cool J. If rap was like musical chairs, LL would be the last one standing. No one- and I mean no one- has lasted so long at an elite level of rap, making him old school and new school at the same time. His ability to adapt to new sounds has kept LL at the top for almost 25 years! A bona fide hip hop old school legend...

Kool Moe Dee. This man invented battle rap with his destruction of Busy Bee, and the predecessor to both Rakim and KRS- One, Kool Moe Dee is one of a chosen few rappers who have touched the game at its inception. Which of course leads us to our final member...

Melle Mel. Simply put, no MC has influenced hip to such an extent as Melle Mel. His voice is instantly recognizable, he recorded one of the biggest hits in hop history with "The Message" and helped build the genre, turning it towards a viable business. Without Melle Mel, hip hop certainly would not be what it is today.

So there you have it: my list of hip hop old school legends. If you haven't listened to these rappers extensively, I suggest you do.
